In this section, I will show you how to use V-RayMtl Converter 3 step by step. You can follow along with this tutorial by downloading the plugin from . You will need 3ds Max version 2013 or newer and V-Ray version 3.0 or newer to use this plugin.


Before you start converting materials, you need to install the plugin and activate it in 3ds Max. To do that, follow these steps:


  • Copy the file VrayMtlConverter3.mse to your 3ds Max scripts folder (usually C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 20xx\scripts).



  • Run 3ds Max and go to Customize > Customize User Interface.



  • Switch to the Toolbars tab and select VrayMtlConverter3 from the Category list.



  • Drag and drop the VrayMtlConverter3 button to any toolbar or menu.



  • Click on the button to launch the plugin interface.
