Ceiling panels need to fight gravity, so avoid super-light ones—they warp eventually. I pick thicker plastic models with good clip strength and textured white finish that blends with spray-on ceiling. The one I used has spring-loaded latches that hold securely but release easily when you push up. It’s rated for occasional attic access too if needed. Painted to match the ceiling it looks factory-installed. I hung a reliable wall access panel for drywall (24×24) between joists and it’s been rock-solid. Add cross blocking for support on bigger sizes.
