Xenia Emulator is an experimental emulator for the Xbox 360. It is not for enabling illegal activity, but for experimenting, researching, and educating on the topic of emulation of modern devices and operating systems. • Go to the download page of Xenia Click on the latest build under the Master heading.

  • Click on the xenia-master.zip file to download it.

Canary Branch

The Canary branch is the experimental version of Xenia that has more features and improvements, but also more bugs and instability. It is updated more frequently than the Master branch, but it may not work with some games or hardware. To download the Canary branch, follow these steps:

  • Go to the download page of Xenia

  • Click on the latest build under the Canary heading.

  • Click on the xenia-canary.zip file to download it.

How to Install Xenia Emulator

Xenia Emulator does not require any installation. You just need to extract the zip file and launch the executable. Here are the steps to do that:

Extract the Zip File

  • Locate the zip file that you downloaded (either xenia-master.zip or xenia-canary.zip) and right-click on it.

  • Select Extract All... from the menu and choose a destination folder for the extracted files.

  • Wait for the extraction process to finish.

Launch Xenia

  • Open the destination folder where you extracted the zip file and double-click on the xenia.exe file.

  • You should see a window with the Xenia logo and some information about your system and GPU.

  • If you see an error message or a blank screen, try updating your graphics drivers or switching to a different branch of Xenia.

Open a Game File

  • To play a game with Xenia, you need to have a game file in either ISO or XEX format. You can obtain these files from your own Xbox 360 discs or from other sources (but be careful of legal issues).

  • To open a game file, click on File > Open... from the menu bar of Xenia and browse to the location of your game file.

  • Select the game file and click Open. Xenia will try to load and run the game.

  • If you see a compatibility notice, click OK to proceed. If you see an error message or a crash, try updating Xenia or switching to a different branch.

How to Configure Xenia Emulator

Xenia Emulator has some options that you can configure to improve your gaming experience. Here are some of them:

Create a Config File

  • To access more settings of Xenia, you need to create a config file in the same folder as xenia.exe.

  • To do this, open Notepad or any text editor and save an empty file as xenia.config.toml in the same folder as xenia.exe.

  • You can edit this file with any text editor and add or change various settings according to your preference. You can find a list of all possible settings and their descriptions here.

  • Some of the most common settings that you may want to change are:

  • gpu = "any": This setting allows you to choose which GPU to use for Xenia. You can set it to "any", "integrated", or "dedicated". If you have multiple GPUs, you may want to use "dedicated" for better performance.

  • vsync = false: This setting enables or disables vertical synchronization, which synchronizes the frame rate with your monitor's refresh rate. You may want to disable it if you experience screen tearing or input lag, but this may cause higher CPU usage and heat.

  • fullscreen = false: This setting enables or disables fullscreen mode, which makes Xenia occupy the entire screen. You may want to enable it for a more immersive experience, but this may cause compatibility issues with some games or hardware.

Change Graphics Settings

  • To change some graphics settings of Xenia, you need to press Ctrl+Shift+G while running a game. This will open a graphics menu where you can adjust various options.

  • You can use the arrow keys and Enter to navigate and select options, and Esc to exit the menu.

  • Some of the graphics options that you can change are:

  • Resolution Scale: This option allows you to change the resolution scale of the game. You can increase it for better image quality, or decrease it for better performance. The default value is 1.0x, which matches the native resolution of the game.

  • Anisotropic Filtering: This option allows you to change the level of anisotropic filtering, which improves the quality of textures at oblique angles. You can increase it for sharper textures, or decrease it for better performance. The default value is 1x, which means no anisotropic filtering.

  • Anti-Aliasing: This option allows you to change the type of anti-aliasing, which reduces the jagged edges of objects. You can choose from none, FXAA, or MSAA. FXAA is a fast and simple method that blurs the edges, while MSAA is a more accurate and expensive method that samples the edges multiple times. The default value is none, which means no anti-aliasing.

Use a Controller

  • To use a controller with Xenia, you need to have a compatible controller that is recognized by Windows. You can use an Xbox 360 controller, an Xbox One controller, or any other XInput-compatible controller.

To connect your controller, you can use a USB cable or a wireless adapter. If you use a wireless adapter, make sure to pair your controlle
