Using crypto for online shopping 2026

Which sites still accept crypto directly in 2026, or is it mostly gift cards/converters now? Looking for real options that don’t add extra steps.

Direct acceptance grew a bit but still limited to niche shops, VPNs, some hosting and a few fashion/tech retailers. For everything else the smoothest way is a wallet with on-the-fly conversion to Visa/MC so you shop normally anywhere online. No pre-buying gift cards, no manual swaps. I use mine for Amazon alternatives, software subs, clothing sites - basically wherever I’d use a regular card. Conversion is usually 0.5–1.5% spread, which beats a lot of credit card foreign fees. This wallet has been reliable for that exact use-case: https://plumex.io/ - they list supported coins and give examples of typical online spends. Makes crypto feel less like a side project and more like another payment method. I probably do 40% of online shopping this way now.
