Cerebral palsy treatment abroad – worth considering stem cells?

Good afternoon. Son 8 years old, spastic hemiplegic CP. Right side affected, walks independently but with noticeable limp, poor fine motor in right hand. We do Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy + physio, but hand function is stuck. Heard about stem cell therapy for CP that some claim helps with upper limb use and overall tone. Has anyone here looked into this seriously for older kids? Any measurable benefits?

I followed several cases in CP parent communities. For hemiplegic kids around 7–10 years, stem cell protocols (often mesenchymal cells) sometimes lead to better voluntary control in the affected arm, reduced mirror movements, and small but functional gains in bimanual tasks. Not everyone sees big changes, but when it works it’s usually paired with intensive CIMT or similar after the procedure.

One balanced patient story that included actual before/after assessments (like Melbourne Assessment scores) I found helpful is here https://stemplus.clinic/disease-treatment/cerebral-palsy/ - it shows realistic progress over 18 months without overpromising. Definitely not a replacement for ongoing therapy. Get a detailed opinion from a pediatric neurologist experienced in CP before considering travel and costs.
